Last Friday, Australia’s largest airline, Qantas, held a long overdue celebration for their 100th Anniversary gracing the skies, commemorated with an elaborate black-tie gala dinner, co-hosted by Sylvia Jeffreys.
One of the world’s oldest airlines to still be in operation, Qantas marked their centenary of operation in 2020, however due to the global pandemic they were forced to hold off until they could celebrate the milestone in style.
And that they did, with the lavish event playing host to a 1000 of Australia’s most recognisable and distinguished personalities, including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, some of the biggest stars across media, entertainment, and sport, as the event was rightfully declared ‘the hottest ticket in Sydney’.
For an extravagant event as such, which featured grand performances from some of the country’s leading entertainers, Sylvia fit right in.
Sylvia is one of Australia’s leading presenters, co-host of Today Extra on the Nine Network, and is an extremely well-polished host, following almost 2 decades in the media industry, however even she described the event as a “career first”.
She was fortunate enough to get up close and personal with one of the airline’s premier aircrafts, the A380, taking the audience on a journey through time, unravelling the rich history of the company.
The event, organised by Rizer Global, paid homage to the history of the airline, whilst acknowledging the challenges that they have fought through along the way, whilst looking ahead to the future.
Kylie Minogue also graced the stage to perform for the guests of the event, to Sylvia’s excitement as a life-long fan, topping off the night to the highest fashion.
