The Fordham Foundation will be represented at the running of the $10 million XXXX Golden Eagle this Saturday, having been selected as the Official Charity Partner for British horse, Welwal.
In its 4th year running, The Golden Eagle brings together the best four-year-old’s in the country and abroad for one 1500m sprint, making it Australia’s second richest race. What makes the main stakes so special is that 10% of the $10 million prizemoney is donated to the winning owner’s charity of choice.
Welwal, who will be jumping out of Barrier 9, is a colt who is trained by legendary Horse Trainer, Chris Waller. It has had a successful career thus far and is sure to compete for the top spot come Saturday afternoon.
The Fordham Foundation was created in 2020, to honour the memory and legacy of the late John Fordham AM, and aims to carry on the strong fundraising endeavours established by John, mainly in providing financial assistance to the Head and Neck Cancer Foundation.
A big thank you to Racing NSW for such an incredible initiative, with much needed funds, support and awareness sure to be going towards a great cause this weekend.
